Ring Group Activity Reporting

Every ring group generates its own activity data — calls received, answered, missed, and sent to overflow — viewable as a report. You don’t need to set up a full contact center queue just to see how a team is handling incoming calls.

01

What exactly does a ring group track?

Total incoming calls, who answered each one, how many went unanswered, how many rolled to overflow or voicemail, and average time-to-answer. That’s enough to spot whether a group is genuinely keeping up with its call volume.

02

Do we need contact center software to get this kind of visibility?

No. Standard ring groups already include this level of reporting. It’s independent of the more advanced queuing and wallboard (a real-time performance dashboard — see Glossary) tools covered under Managed Contact Center. Instead, it suits teams that just need a group of phones and a clear view of how it’s performing, not a full queuing operation.

03

Can we see which specific person answered which call?

Yes. Individual call records show who ultimately answered. That’s useful both for accountability and for spotting an imbalance, like one person consistently answering far more or far fewer calls than the rest of the group.

04

How far back does this reporting go?

We retain historical data and make it reportable over whatever time window you need — a single day, a week, a month. That way, you can compare performance over time, not just look at what’s happening right now.

05

What if we decide we actually do need full queue-level reporting later?

Ring groups and contact center queues can run side by side. It’s straightforward to move a group’s call volume into a proper queue later if your needs grow. See Call Timeline & Detail Records for what that deeper level of reporting looks like.
