Real-Time Call Transcription

Calls can be transcribed live — converted from spoken audio into written text as the conversation happens (a capability sometimes called STT, or speech-to-text — see Glossary) — so you have an accurate written record without anyone needing to take manual notes.

01

Why would a business want this instead of just taking notes?

Manual note-taking means someone is only half-listening while they write, and details get missed or paraphrased inaccurately. A live transcript captures what was actually said, word for word, freeing the person on the call to focus entirely on the conversation.

02

Does this work for every call, or only certain types?

It’s available for calls handled through the system generally — useful for sales calls, customer support conversations, and internal meetings alike. It pairs particularly well with the AI Receptionist, which uses the same underlying speech-recognition technology to understand and route callers.

03

Can we search past transcripts later, or only see them live?

Live transcription shows text in real time during the call; the resulting transcript can also be saved and reviewed afterward, similar to how AI Voicemail Transcription turns a saved voicemail into searchable text.

04

Does transcription work with multiple languages?

Yes — transcription supports multiple languages, which matters for businesses serving customers who don’t all speak the same one.

05

Is a transcribed call as private and secure as a regular call?

Yes — the transcript is generated and stored with the same security protections as your call recordings, so a written transcript doesn’t create a weaker link than the audio itself.
