1:1 Video Calling
Any audio call between two people can be escalated to video with a single tap, from the same app. There’s no hanging up, redialing, or sending a separate meeting link.

Why would a business need this instead of just scheduling a video meeting?
A lot of conversations only need video once they’re already underway — a customer wants to show you a product issue, or a manager wants to read a colleague’s reaction to something. Flipping a call to video in the moment keeps the conversation moving. It avoids the friction of “let me send you a link, one second.”
Does the other person need to install anything?
No, if they’re already using the softphone (phone software that runs on a computer or mobile device instead of a dedicated desk phone — see Glossary) or desktop/mobile app your team uses for calling, video works through the same app with no extra download. An external contact without the app can use a browser-based option instead. See Video Conferencing for meeting-link-based video that doesn’t require any app at all.
What if only one side has a camera or a decent internet connection?
The call simply continues as audio-only for that leg — there’s no penalty or dropped call for one side not having video available. This makes it safe to offer video as a default option without worrying about failed calls.
Is 1:1 video calling different from a full video conference?
Yes. 1:1 video calling is a quick escalation of an existing two-person call. Video Conferencing handles scheduled or ad hoc meetings with multiple participants, screen sharing, and a shareable meeting link. Reach for that when you need more than two people in the room.
Is the video call secure?
Yes — video calls run over the same encrypted connection as your regular phone calls, so conversations stay private between the people on the call.
