One-Way Paging
One-way paging lets you broadcast a live or pre-recorded announcement to a phone, a group of phones, or connected overhead speakers, with the message going out and no reply expected back — the same idea as a classic office intercom announcement.

What’s a typical business use case for this?
Announcing a visitor’s arrival at the front desk, calling a specific employee to a phone, alerting a warehouse floor about a delivery, or making a general end-of-day announcement — anything where one person needs to reach a group instantly without setting up a call or a meeting.
Do I need special hardware to use it?
Existing desk phones can typically receive paging announcements without any extra hardware. Reaching overhead or ceiling speakers usually requires a paging adapter or compatible speaker system, which connects into the same phone system.
Can I choose who hears a specific page?
Yes — you can target a page to a specific extension, a group of extensions, or a defined paging zone, so an announcement meant for the warehouse doesn’t also interrupt the front office. See Multicast & Zone Paging for reaching multiple groups at once.
How is this different from two-way intercom?
One-way paging is broadcast-only — the person receiving it can’t talk back through the same channel. If you need an actual back-and-forth conversation, see Two-Way Intercom.
Can pages be scheduled in advance?
Yes — recurring or one-time scheduled announcements are supported, useful for things like a daily opening announcement or a recorded closing-time reminder that plays automatically without anyone triggering it manually.
