Regional & Multi-Country Availability

Multi-country availability means planning for what changes when you operate across more than one province, state, or country — number availability, emergency-calling (E911 — see Glossary) compliance, and regulatory requirements can all differ by region. We support deployments spanning multiple Canadian provinces and other countries, and account for those regional differences during setup rather than leaving them for you to discover after go-live.

01

Which regions and countries does multi-country availability cover?

We support multi-province deployments across Canada as well as international locations. Availability for specific number types (local, toll-free) and calling features can vary by country, so we’ll confirm exact coverage for your specific regions during setup.

02

Does emergency calling (E911) work the same way in every region?

The underlying protection is the same everywhere — a registered address is transmitted automatically when someone dials for emergency help — but the specific regulatory requirements behind it vary by jurisdiction (e.g. CRTC rules in Canada versus Kari’s Law/RAY BAUM’S Act in the US). We configure each location to meet the requirements that actually apply to where it is.

03

Are there tax or regulatory differences between regions we should plan for?

Yes. Telecom taxes, surcharges, and regulatory fees vary by province, state, and country, and some regions have their own compliance requirements around calling, recording, or data handling. We’ll flag anything relevant to your specific footprint during the quoting process so there are no surprises on your invoice.

04

Can we get phone numbers in a country or province where we don’t have a physical office?

In many cases, yes — this depends on the specific region’s number regulations, since some jurisdictions require a local presence or documentation before a number can be issued there. We’ll confirm what’s possible for the specific regions you need during setup.

05

What if we expand into a new region after go-live?

Regions can be added after the fact — you’re not locked into only the provinces or countries you start with. Let your account contact know when you’re expanding and we’ll confirm number availability and any region-specific requirements before you need them.

Operating across borders shouldn’t mean surprises at setup.
